We are looking to research possible areas to retire and buy a house on a lake. We dont want a hot weather state like Texas or real cold like Minnesota.

Anyone know of lake or cities with lakes and houses on them to research. Prices should be 500k or under. Thanks.

Hello. My husband and I are looking to buy our first home. We have 2 kids and can’t stand paying rent any longer, but house prices are so high here that we are having a very hard time finding a home in our range.

We love the Tomball area and want to stay within a 10 mile radius, but if you have a home for sale then let me know! We need around 1500 square foot, 3 bedroom minimum, 1.5 baths min. And a 2 car garage all for under 0,000. I thought I’d give it a try, all the great deals go before I can jump on them.

Oh, and we are pre approved, all we need is a house to buy! We could save each other time and money!

I forgot to mention I have a realtor, I was hoping to find someone trying to get out of their home or a home that may not be listed.

My tax assessment went up twenty percent from last year. I don’t believe it’s possible my home could appreciate that much in value, considering the neighborhood where I live.

I will be appearing before the county tax appraisers to state my case, but I am unable to find for how much “comparable” homes nearby sold. Realtors aren’t willing to share this information with me. Trullia.com doesn’t list neighboring houses I know were sold in the last year, and zillow.com is utterly worthless; I couldn’t care less what they *think* my house and my neighbors’ are worth.

Home sales costs have to be public information, just like tax assessments. But where can I find it?

Several thousand homes were sold last year; and I don’t have the time to comb thousands of sales records to find three or four homes that are similar enough to mine that I can justify the county not raising my taxes. I need a way to sort through all the records electronically and immediately. My hearing is in two weeks.

New Story from NBC 5i FORT WORTH, Texas — Parts of Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Ellis counties were placed under tornado warnings Monday afternoon as storms with hail and high wind gusts moved across the Metroplex.
Storm spotters in northern Johnson County reported lowerings and funnel clouds, but a tornado was not officially spotted on the ground as the storms moved to the northeast at about 35 mph. The storm then continued east into Cedar Hill and DeSoto. North of Dallas, Collin County was under a tornado warning until 5 pm as the storm was expected to move into the McKinney area after 4 pm Southern Dallas County, southeastern Tarrant County and northwestern Ellis County were also under tornado warnings until 4:30 pm Denton, Hood, Bosque, Erath and Somervell counties were under severe thunderstorm warnings, where storms were capable of producing quarter size hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph.
Viewers across the Metroplex sent nbc5i.com reports and photographs of hail that ranged from dime-sized to egg-sized. See the photos here.
